A meteor is likely to blame for the loud explosion heard across parts of California and Nevada on Sunday. Astronomers say the meteor likely broke up somewhere over the Sierras, southwest of Reno. They believe it came from an ongoing meteor shower left by a comet, which passes earth every year.
